Aliens.

I watched 'Knowing' today. 

It occurred to me that in every movie, aliens are always super-smart slightly human-resembling things. they always live in spaceships, with technology miles ahead of our own. 

How are we to know? What if we are the smartest thing out there? 

Billions of years ago the earth formed. Nobody really knows when. My science teacher was talking about how people always say that the world began at the beginning of the dinosaurs, but there could have been stuff before that that we don't know about. What if this is all just a cycle? That every few million years the earth is just obliterated? Like how the dinosaur were wiped out. Now there are humans. What if our race is going to be wiped out, along with everything else on the planet, and replaced with something only slightly similar to something we know of today? Like how crocodiles are as close to dinosaurs we can get. What if some giant meteor comes and wipes out everything - flattens mountains, collapses caves, dries up lakes and rivers, melt ice caps, and everything starts again. People a million years from now could dig up human bones and be like 'wtf? this looks nothing like anything we've ever seen!' In the movie 'Knowing' *SPOILER ALERT!* The aliens take what probably amounts up to 20 kids from earth and have them restart on another planet while earth is destroyed. They just restart. Everything. *END SPOILER* 

but who knows. We could be way ahead of any other life in the universe - if there is any other life in the universe. Maybe aliens are just slugs that survive on instincts. I don't know. 

The earth is so confusing. 

I think I have too much of an imagination to ever be a scientist.
